This carved sculpture with Maya/Nicoya motif representing the sun deity sit on a tradtional decorated ring. The sculpture can be placed in that ring to give the piece many different views. The link to this form goes back to the indigenous times where similar style forms were used for ceremonial drinks of corn and coco.

This piece stands 12 inches on the ring and in about 10 inches across.
